Why is it important to engage local indigenous communities in science education efforts supported by state offices of education?  In this session, we will share stories from Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, and Colorado that highlight relationships; relevant state policies; and strengths and challenges.  Participants will be able to ask questions and engage in discussion with their colleagues in this interactive session.
